Thor is a Vanguard hero in Marvel Rivals, and is the 22nd hero introduced to the game's roster.
He has team-up abilities that work in conjunction with Angela and Hela (formerly).
A bulky bruiser who excels at constantly bullying his enemies at close-range, while gaining bonus health to keep him constantly in action.
Thor's gameplay revolves around his passive, Thorforce, which grants him bonus health depending on what type of ability he uses. Thorforce is displayed as icons underneath the aiming reticle.
His primary fire, Mjƶlnir Bash, deals a small amount of damage but has the added effect of instantly replenishing a single charge of Thorforce per successful hit.
His secondary fire, Hammer Throw, is a ranged attack of relatively limited distance that can deal damage both when hurled and also when the hammer returns to Thor.
Storm Surge is Thor's main mobility tool. It allows him to perform a quick lunge with his hammer in any direction, with the distance and damage increasing the longer it is charged (from 10 meters to up to 20 meters when fully charged). If Thor hits an enemy, they're pushed back and carried alongside the attack. This move is versatile and allows Thor to get in and out of combat easily. It costs one charge of Thorforce.
This ability makes Thor formidable to dive at the backline to push Strategists out of position and ensure the team takes them down.
It also makes Thor exceptional at defending his allies, as he can also push away enemy team divers attacking his team's own backline.
Awakening Rune temporarily enhances Thor's Mjƶlnir Bash, turning it into a ranged attack, being his best tool for zoning from a safe distance. This ability lasts for 5 seconds and costs three charges of Thorforce.
In addition, Thor deals damage-over-time to all nearby enemies.
Thor also gains a larger amount of bonus health than usual.
Lightning Realm creates a spell field that deals damage and slows down enemies by 30%. It also restores Thorforce based on the number of enemies hit.
It's the only normal ability that doesn't consume Thorforce charges.
Enemies will take damage whenever they cross through the spell field.
His Ultimate, God of Thunder, has Thor leaping into the air while charging Mjƶlnir, which creates a spell field in a large radius around him that deals a small amount of damage. It's followed by Thor slamming the hammer down to the ground and dealing high damage.
When paired with Hela, he gains access to Odinson Reborn, where Hela instantly revives Thor if she lands the final hit on an enemy. If Thor is alive, he receives a small amount of bonus health instead.
When paired with Angela, he gains access to Celestial Command, which allows him to hurl a Thunder Spear, which restores Thorforce for each enemy hit. When the ability is activated again, Thor leaps towards the area where the spear hit.

Thor
The well-known God of Thunder, Thor is presented as a complex and developing character, combining the qualities of an honorable and gallant prince, and, eventually, a modest and self-aware warrior. Thor is arrogant, proud and stubborn at the start of his story, motivated by a thirst for glory and battle. He frequently behaves rashly, certain in his strength and position as Asgard's crown prince. His portrayed with a strong sense of duty, honor, and a deep connection to Asgard and its traditions. As the Norse God of Thunder, he speaks in a more archaic, Shakespearean manner like ātheeā and āthouā which gives him an almost mythic quality and reinforces his divine heritage.
His arrogance, rebellious and desire for war almost caused a disaster, prompting his father, Odin, to exile him to Earth. This exile marks an important turning point in his life, beginning to form his character. He gains humanity, knowledge, and compassion from his experiences on Earth. Thor begins to gain humility, empathy, and a greater sense of duty as he spends more time among mortals. His interactions with people like Jane Foster, and later the Avengers, teach him the importance of compassion and teamwork. With Thor as a founding member of the Avengers, and despite feeling like an outcast due to his mystical background, he passionately respects and values those around him.
Thor's connection with his family is complex and significant. With his brother Loki, the god of mischief, frequently seeks power and use deception to destroy Thor or Asgard. And Thor, despite being betrayed numerous times, frequently attempts to redeem him. Despite Loki's schemes, Thor sincerely cares for him as a brother. He recognizes the good in Loki, even when others don't, and hopes for his redemption even if it comes at a high personal cost. Their relationship is defined by cycles of betrayal and reconciliation. With her sister Angela, she originally sees Asgard as an enemy and battles with Thor since she was raised in the realm of Heven rather than with his family. Thor strives to connect with her as the truth becomes clear. Angela stays distant, independent and focused to protect their sister Laussa, but eventually learn to respect one another as warriors and relatives. And with his parents, Thor's connection with Odin, the All-Father, is marked by conflict, admiration, and deep turmoil, whereas his mother figure Frigga is a calming, caring, and nurturing presence in his life.
He is fiercely loyal to his friends and family, and his sense of justice is unwavering and is willing to protect Asgard no matter the cost. Despite his growth, Thorās character is nonetheless defined by flaws. He suffers severe losses, pain, and struggles. These events have left him dealing with remorse, anguish, and a crisis of identity. Thor matures from a brash god of thunder to a selfless protector of the realms who is willing to put others ahead of himself, even sacrificing his desires or status for the greater good.
Thor is voiced by Travis Willingham in Marvel Rivals, who has been voicing the character in different Marvel projects since 2012.
Travis is best known for being one of the cast members and player of the web series Critical Role, as well numerous roles in video-games, animes and cartoons, most notably Gazlowe in World of Warcraft, Knuckles the Echidna in various Sonic the Hedgehog games, and Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist.
Using certain abilities while equipped with the "Thor: Love and Thunder" skin, a distinct guitar riff will play.
