Overview[]

Seasons are periods of time in Marvel Rivals when new content is released on a regular basis. Each Season will last approximately 3 months and is divided into 2 halves. The content is around newly introduced Heroes, Maps, and a BattlePass.

Season Structure[]

Length

After Season 0, which lasted 5 weeks, Season 1 and Season 2 will both last 3 months (~13 weeks) each, split into halves. From Season 3 onward, seasons will last 2 months each (still split into halves). The halves of seasons are denoted as Season X.0 and Season X.5.

Content

Seasons typically introduce 2 Heroes and 2 Maps, with 1 per half of the season (with the exception of Season 1). Seasons coincides with a Battlepass which runs for the same duration as the season. Additionally, there is typically 1 Season Event, 1 Special Event, and various Twitch Drops throughout a season.

Balance

Balance changes are made every half season to maintain competitive play and avoid under/overpowered Heroes. These balance changes affect Heroes as well as their Team-Up Abilities. Along with new Team-Up Abilities being added, existing Team-Up Abilities may change from season to season with Heroes being added/removed from certain Team-Ups or a Team-Ups Ability being removed entirely.

Ranked

At the beginning of a Season, players will be dropped 9 divisions (ex. dropping from Diamond I to Silver I). The pool of available maps will also be adjusted. Each half season, there is a Ranked Reward Costume which can be earned by reaching Gold III. If the player is already at Gold III in the second half of the season, they need to play at least 10 ranked matches earn the costume.
