After learning that the Outer Circle engineered Bucky Barnes' entire life to mold him into a living weapon known as a Starpoint to further the mysterious goals of their century game, Steve Rogers agreed to help Bucky confront their mutual enemy. Their new ally — another former Starpoint known only as the Redacted — guided them into the Outer Circle's flying Shadow Capitol and helped them break in.
But when they reached the Outer Circle's chambers, most of the Century Game players were in the wind, and only one remained. The Revolution offered Bucky a choice: Kill him and take his place at the game table, or continue to be used as a pawn. Tired of being manipulated and determined to take down the Outer Circle from within, Bucky agreed to his terms — and when Steve tried to stop him, Bucky shot through Steve to kill the Old Revolution.
