Overview[]
The MVP (Most Valuable Player) in Marvel Rivals is a distinguished title honoring the player who has made the biggest contribution to the winning team in a given match. In contrast to most games that solely award high kills, the MVP system of Marvel Rivals is meant to recognize a broad range of efforts.
Although getting the title does not grant the player any permanence or in-game currencies, such a method is a special way to acknowledge an individual's contributions in performing their role to their utmost abilities.
How to Achieve MVP[]
There are several components the game considers when recognizing a particular hero as the MVP:
- Kills: Getting a high kill count is one of the more apparent factors, so players focusing on more eliminations can increase their chances of becoming MVP.
- Assists: An 'assist' can be counted as using skills to directly aid allies in securing eliminations without the player themselves delivering the final hit. Examples include using crowd control abilities, healing, or providing stat buffs to teammates.
- Damage Dealt: Damage output is also a vital component which effectively helps your team in plowing down strong enemy defenses and setups.
- Damage Mitigated: On the flip side, shielding or blocking damage is a defining factor for ensuring the team's surival. So Vanguards, especially, can take advantage of this role to secure the title.
- Healing: Supports also get their chance at the spotlight as healing output is just as tantamount to the contributions recognized in top players.
- Accuracy: Finally, delivering accurate hits to eliminate opponents safeguards your overall match performance. If precision and aim are more so your forté, then this is one specialty you can take advantage of towards hero stardom.
SVP[]
The SVP (Second Valuable Player) is a consolation title awarded to the player with the best performance in the losing team. While it also serves as an acknowledgment, those recognized as SVPs in Competitive have the bonus perk of not losing points in their respective matches.
MVP Animations[]
As an added Cosmetic feature, the MVP system comes with a variety of unique highlight animations, with each hero having one standard default when released. More specialized MVPs for specific costumes can either be bought individually, through a costume bundle in the store, or from a BattlePass.
As of March 14, 2025, there are 116 MVP animations available for all 37 Playable Characters.
