At one point, Hulk was placed under a spell to prevent him from turning back into Bruce Banner, where eventually, he was publicly presumed dead after he was teleported away from a gamma bomb explosion that destroyed an entire town.
One day, when Hulk returns to Earth, he takes a job as an enforcer at a Las Vegas casino. Calling himself Mr. Joe Fixit, the Hulk spent several months without reverting to human form. It was during this time that he met and dated Marlo Chandler, who would one day marry Rick Jones. Not long though, Banner would resurface, and the Hulk's life as Joe Fixit soon came to an end through the machinations of a crime syndicate known as The Maggia.
