A series of possessions of the most powerful mystical figures in the Marvel Universe has given way to a full-scale dimensional invasion. One of the demons possesses the body of Iron Fist and takes him and the enchanted Eye of Agamotto to another dimension. The mastermind behind all of this reveals himself to be Dr. Strange's long-thought-dead mentor, the Ancient One.
The Avengers, on the other hand, have bigger problems to face. The sky splits open, and hails of fire and demonic creatures are entering Earth. The team manages to stand their ground, holding off the onslaught, while at Doctor Voodoo's Sanctum Sanctorum, the magic users are still trying to figure out who may be causing the attack.
Later on, as the dimensional tear starts reclaiming all the unleashed demons, a body is spit out of the rift before the anomaly seals itself out of nowhere. Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) saves the falling man, with the latter revealing himself to be Iron Fist, now dressed in a new white and gold costume. Danny then punches Strange, explaining his encounter with the Ancient One, who is very much alive, which Strange finds confusing, as his master died at the age of 500.
Iron Fist claims otherwise and says that the Eye of Agamotto didn't belong here and that Strange stole it from its rightful owner. The Ancient One has granted them a reprieve, for it has only just begun. Once again, Iron Fist asks Strange who the eye belongs to.
