Eternal Night Falls[]
During the Timestream Entanglement, Doctor Doom paid a visit to the Lord of Vampires, Vlad Dracula. He then gifts and introduces him to the Chronovium, the result of his experiment that caused the very fabric of time and space to unravel and reweave itself in unexpected ways. He then persuades Dracula that if he drops a single drop of blood on the gem, he will gain access to boundless power held within the crystal. He then instructs Dracula to conquer New York as his new domain by acquiring the Book of the Damned, the Darkhold. Dracula has agreed on Doom and drops a blood on the Chronovium. When the Eternal Night has started in New York, he then visited Doctor Strange at the Sanctum Sanctorum to ask and hand over the Darkhold. The Sorcerer Supreme then refused to give the book to Doom, resulting to both exchange spells which leads them to a short battle. After, the King of Latveria then warned him that a great darkness is coming to reign all over the city. He then left the Sanctum and faded in the eyes of Doctor Strange.
Dracula had already used the Blood Chronovium by the time he took New York, thus Doom had misled the vampire since then. Doom controlled events from behind the scenes, allowing Dracula and his army to get dirty while unwittingly keeping Doom's most dangerous opponents at bay. When the Vampiric Verses from the Darkhold were uncovered, Doom switched allegiances and secretly supported the heroes in their quest to defeat Dracula - all in order to obtain his ultimate treasure and wield his ancient power over the Chronovium. Doom's method proved to be tremendously effective, with each move going exactly as expected. Doom outwitted everyone and proudly held the Pure Blood Chronovium in his steely hands. The blood dipped by the Lord of Vampires on the Chronovium has connected to Doom's might, absorbing a portion of his power and resulting in Dracula's defeat.[1]
