Official Description
Daredevil is a Duelist hero in Marvel Rivals and is the 43rd hero introduced to the game's roster during Season 4.5: Heart of the Dragon.[1]
He has a team-up ability that works in conjunction with The Punisher, for which he is the anchor.
Overview[]
Strengths[]
- A combo-orientated Duelist with great potential for mobility and excellent means of both defense and offense. He can cycle between his abilities to maximize his damage output.
- Can scale walls and cling to them.
- Blind beyond a certain distance, making enemies within that range invisible to the player.
- His passive, Radar Sense, detects nearby enemies and allies through walls.
- Daredevil uses Fury as a resource, holding up to three charges that are gained through abilities. He can consume Fury to activate Infernal Fury.
- His primary attack, Justice Jab, is a basic double-tap melee that grants 0.5 Fury per hit.
- He can also weave quick melees in between attack cycles to increase damage output.
- After using Devil's Latch or Infernal Fury, he enables a 5s window of time to use Righteous Cross as his next attack - where he lunges forward for one heavy strike and gains 0.5 Fury on hit.
- His secondary fire, Objection, has Daredevil enter a defensive stance for up to 1.5 seconds where he deflects oncoming melee attacks and ranged projectiles from the front.
- He also becomes immune to damage while within the stance, allowing you to completely negate certain damage abilities to stay in the fight for longer.
- After the ability ends, he gains 2 Fury if he deflected at least one attack back at an opponent.
- Devil's Latch launches a grapple that propels the player forward upon connecting with a surface and grants 2 Fury upon activation - then enabling Righteous Cross.
- If the grapple hits an enemy, the target will be pulled forward and the player will dash forward to collide with them for additional damage.
- Infernal Fury consumes 2 Fury to allow the player to choose between two attacks: Devil's Chain and Devil's Throw - enabling Righteous Cross after using either attack.
- Devil's Chain is a shockwave attack that converts damage dealt into bonus health. It also has a strike spot at the end of the attack range, dealing double the damage when an enemy is hit by it.
- Devil's Throw hurls a projectile to bounce off walls and between nearby enemies - inflicting slow upon hit and granting 25 bonus health upon casting.
- Sonic Pursuit can be used to mark a targeted enemy, revealing their location and granting the player increased movement speed and damage reduction.
- Daredevil can then dash to the marked enemy to briefly blind them and gain 2 Fury. If he eliminates the marked target within a few seconds of marking them, the dash cooldown will be reset.
- The movement speed boost does become reduced the farther you are from the marked target, making prioritizing your marked target much more effective than switching between targets.
- Enemies can also be marked through walls to further amplify tracking capability.
- His Ultimate, Let The Devil Out, creates a visible dome around the player and continuously charges Fury while active. Enemies within the dome and line of sight become tethered, ramping up in a blindness and damage over time effect. When at max blindness, their audio also becomes slightly dampened.
Weaknesses[]
- His abilities only work in tandem with Infernal Fury, making it so the brute power of his skillset sometimes revolve around a single ability while the others are used to build back up your Fury.
- In scenarios where Daredevil is low on Fury and cannot regain it through self-means by using abilities, he becomes especially vulnerable due to his very low attack range.
- Daredevil can almost never fight long battles at his own tempo because of his high resource management.
- While he can sense enemies through walls, the same does not apply to spawnables.
- Daredevil can be considered a very spammy character because he relies upon expending Infernal Fury as much as possible. Because of this, his ability inputs can sometimes feel rather sticky and his flow can be easily hindered if the player acts too aggressive.

Personality[]

Matthew Murdock, known as Daredevil, is a complex character defined by his dual existence. By day, he is a gifted and principled lawyer committed to upholding justice within the confines of the legal system. By night, he turns into Daredevil, a masked vigilante who fights crime on the streets of Hell's Kitchen, New York, though he adheres to a strict "no-kill" rule. This conflict between law and vigilantism exemplifies the moral uncertainty that defines much of his character. Matt is sincerely committed to doing the right thing, but he is always debating how far he is ready to go to protect the innocent while punishing the wicked. Daredevil is driven by a deep feeling of remorse and duty stemming from a difficult childhood. After being blinded in an accident while saving a man's life, Matt's remaining senses were enhanced to superhuman levels. His father, Jack Murdock, a boxer, instilled in him a strong moral code and the value of standing up for oneself, but Jack's murder for refusing to fight taught Matt that the world is cruel and unjust. This tragedy instilled in Matt a quiet intensity and a readiness to sacrifice himself for others, often to self-destructive means.
Matt is an emotional and thoughtful person. He struggles with his Catholic faith, frequently turning to the church for help while also questioning God's role in his life. He is troubled by failure and struggles with emotions of unworthiness, particularly when his acts as Daredevil inflict collateral harm. Nonetheless, he persists in his quest of justice, even if it alienates those he loves or puts him in danger. Matt Murdock's emotional life revolves around his relationship with Foggy Nelson and Karen Page. They symbolize his link to the world beyond the mask, his humanity, his hope, and his greatest vulnerabilities. Matt, Foggy, and Karen form a captivating and emotionally charged trio. When they come together, as friends, coworkers, and occasionally more, they represent the best parts of Matt's life. While Mattās known for his brooding and moral seriousness, he has a sense of humor and had rare genuine laughter that happens occasionally, often in more relaxed moments with friends or during flashbacks to lighter times. One occurred while interacting in-game with one of his close friends Black Panther. As serious as he is, he can't help but laugh at the idea of Hell's Kitchen in space.
One of the most volatile dynamic relationship of Daredevil with other Marvel characters is the vigilante known as The Punisher. Matt Murdock believes in the rule of justice, redemption, and the value of life, including for criminals. While Frank Castle sees the legal system as permanently damaged and takes justice into his own hands, killing those he deems guilty. Their interactions are frequently characterized by tension, mutual scorn, and hesitant respect. Their meetings frequently push Matt to confront his own constraints and question the efficiency of his code, rendering their battle deeply personal and morally complex. With Spider-Man, they have a connection that is based on similar principles, mutual trust, and a profound understanding of each other's hardships. Their partnership exemplifies the greatest of superhero friendships, as it is founded not only on fighting together, but also on confronting, understanding, and quietly supporting one another through the moral weight of being heroes.
In recent events, we learned that after Daredevil defeated the monster known as "The Beast," he discovered he had a true devil inside him. Yinglong, one of The Beast's captives, promised to help Daredevil harness this demonic power. Daredevil followed Yinglong to the Eighth City, where Yinglong taught him how to control the Beast's power without being possessed and where he changed the prison world into a refugee haven, no matter their crimes, earning himself a new name: "Dizang." He even kept the goddess Hela in the refugee haven after her defeat in Klyntar. Matt's view on everything he'd done and sacrificed has shifted significantly since moving to the Eighth City according to an in-game interaction with Jean Grey and Hawkeye. Given that this version of Matt is from the Collapsing timeline, the amount of pain, suffering, and sorrow he experienced is immense. Still, he continues to hold to his strength and beliefs while he experienced hell repetitively while fighting the "beast" within him that granted him powers. His resilience, mixed with a blazing inner anguish and suffering, transforms him into a terribly tragic yet heroic figure, a man who straddles the border between light and darkness, never quite fitting into either.
