Overview[]
Avatars displays on the character selection screen before a match, on the match scoreboard, and in the bottom left of the screen. These indicate which character you are playing, including characters with multiple states such as Cloak & Dagger (Cloak and Dagger), Hulk (Bruce Banner, Hulk, and Monster Hulk), and Magik (Magik and Darkchylde).
Deluxe Avatars (commonly referred to as Lord Icons) are a cosmetic earned through the Proficiency system by reaching 
Lord and 
Champion with a Hero.
